We have popped corn in a cast iron dutch oven on a fire…maybe you could do the same with this unit….more directly like when cooking eggs…..Just a thought…
You should change you name to mr & mrs fresnel
hi : ) because the sun>fresnel energy varies so much and is hard to tell how hot the spot is: Maybe a temperature reading on the bottom of the pan would help and you could alter the distance depending on the read out? I wonder if it would be possible to calculate in this way, as the spot size varies too? :/
she is hot
You would if it got her heated up!!
note to self use microwaves way faster and less deadlier
If i had a HOT wife i wouldn’t be playing with fresnel lens…… LOL
she’s got some nice solar cells… hehehe
You guys just need a flat panel already setup to absorb the heat and then you can just set stuff onto that. I mean imo
You guys are great. I’ve enjoyed all the video’s.

I think you need a method of convection like you suggested with the cast iron pan.
Use a thick steel plate in the sunlight’s beam and put the popcorn on that. Less direct extreme heat, and spread out more on the popcorn.
where’s the fun in that?
a smaller lens redirects less light, thus reducing the strength of your total focussed light.
Grow up man!
LMAO…Do ya really need a lens that huge?I think a smaller one might work just as well.
Don’t forget to put your face over it while opening and breathe in deeply to get that fresh popcorn smell.
yum! I WANT TO EAT THAT
POPCORN.
you shood watch to learn something ,and watch your on house
hehehe
but no bad intesion there,or here
in my house is the same
How many times you have burn a pop corn before you can eat one?
Great stuff,,, you guys belong together…. thanks for all your vids…
I really like how she is constantly telling him what to do. I thought he was the experimentor genius behind all this. I see who wears the pants in that house.
I think the hot set up for popcorn would be a cast iron skillet with a glass lid. Put your popcorn and oil in the skillet and let the light from the lens shine through the clear lid. No mirror needed. Just a thought. Great vids. Love your stuff.
Dan, The old Jiffy Pop Popcorn needed to be shuffled back and forth to get it popped so it would burn. You might want to try shaking while solarizing it. If it works better, then post that video. I like your videos. Keep up the good work.
